Achievements of Louis Chenevert as the CEO of United Technologies Corporation

Louis R. Chenevert is a former Chairman and CEO of the United Technologies Corporation (UTC) where he worked for 14 years. He has also worked as the former President and Vice President of operations of Pratt and Whitney Canada. He was born in 1958 in Canada and attended the HEC Montreal, an associate Business School of the University of Montreal where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in production management in 1979. UTC is a company that deals with research, manufacture and development of high edged technology products in different fields such as aircraft engines and aerospace systems. The company also does studies on elevators and escalators, industrial systems as well as fire, security and safety. Under Louis Chenevert leadership, UTC has grown and attained great success over the years. He aided in increasing the company’s shares price from 37 dollars to 117 dollars a 200 percent increase. This is one of the things that raised the standard of UTC to the chart of the most profitable businesses in the US. He also made 16.3 billion dollar procurement for Goodrich one of the most outstanding aerospace deals in the history of USA. During his time at UTC, he ensured that the company produced environmental-friendly and eco-sentient products. He also made sure that the greenhouse gasses released by the company were reduced by 26 percent and the consumption of water was reduced by 56 percent. In 2008 when he was working as a CEO of United Technologies Corporation Louis earned a benefit of over 22 million dollars. Later in 2009, he was given the Honor Award by the National Building Museum, and in 2011, he was named the U.S Aviation trade, magazine Aviation Week and Space Technology’s person of the year. Louis Chenevert established the Director of the United States Friends of HEC Montreal Foundation where he is also a member. He is the chairperson of HEC Montreal International Advisory Board as well as the Yale Cancer Center Advisory Board.
