Are You Brushing Your Teeth Incorrectly?

We all know how proper oral health can contribute to how healthy our bodies are overall. Improper brushing can lead to heart disease and other issues and while most people think they are doing a good job by brushing two to three times each day they may still be making some crucial mistakes. According to the American Dental Association, there are some simple tips that you can follow to ensure you are attaining the best oral health that you can.

Brush At The Proper Time Of Day
When you brush your teeth at night make sure that you do not put anything else in your mouth afterwards. If you snack before bed this increases your risk of developing a cavity because of food that can settle between your teeth. Always brush in the morning as well. It benefits you to have clean teeth between breakfast and lunch if possible.

Use The Right Brush
When you pick a new toothbrush choose on that has soft bristles that can slip themselves under your gum tissue. This will help with plaque removal Sultan Alhokair tells us.

You do not have to use mouthwash but after brushing give your mouth a good rinse with water. This removes any other particles that were loosened during the brushing process.

Replace Your Brush Often
When three to four months have gone by make sure you switch out your toothbrush. Also if you have been sick you may want to switch it out when your illness is over.
