Brooklyn Pins It All on Brook Lopez

Brook Lopez is an unrestricted free agent and there is always the possibility that the big man bounds away for a new contract in a city with less of a harsh spotlight. But we don’t think that is going to happen and neither do the Nets back in Brooklyn. All Star caliber big man Brook Lopez is expected to return to Brooklyn after reaching a new verbal deal with the Nets. Brooklyn is so confident in him coming back that the Nets are already dealing back up big men on their roster, including mason Plumlee — a young center with potential.

According to Madison Street Capital, Lopez has had a history of injuries that has kept him off of the floor far too often, mostly having to do with his foot. Yet despite these injuries Lopez has continued to flash All Star and team leading ability while on the court. The big center has the ability to finish at the rim, spot up in the mid range, and snag just about every rebound possible. Last season when healthy the 6th year center averaged 17 points, 7 boards, and almost 2 blocks per game — coming up big in the playoffs against Atlanta.

In two wins against Atlanta in the 2nd round of the playoffs, Lopez averaged 42 minutes to go along with 26 points and 11 boards. That ability is on a different level and could help bring Brooklyn forward next year.
