Dr. Clay Siegall and his Dedication to Medicine

Clay B. Siegall, Ph. D. has been an active participant in the fight against cancer for many years. He has done research and also founded a medical research company in collaboration with another doctor.

Dr. Clay Siegall co-founded the company of Seattle Genetics in 1998. He is at the positions of chief executive officer, president, and chairman of the board. He has been the leader of Seattle Genetics since the establishment of the company.

Seattle Genetics has been the place where a few drugs have developed. Two of them have been approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration and are currently available in more than seventy countries all around the globe. Clay B. Siegall, Ph. D. is the owner of more than a dozen patents.

The company of Seattle Genetics has been a focus for Dr. Clay Siegall due to his personal experience in life. His father fell sick because of cancer. Dr. Clay Segall was nineteen when his father became ill. He has to watch helplessly as cancer progressed and oncologists could not do anything to cure his father. When Dr. Clay Siegall was 24, his father died due to the disease. That made Dr. Clay Siegall want to change the outcome for other cancer patients and their families.

He studied Genetics and earned a doctorate. He then went on to doing research at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute. Dr. Clay Siegall also worked at the national cancer institute. He has been dedicating to his research against cancer for 30 years.

A few years later, he founded the company of Seattle Genetics. His lifelong dream and his dedication to the medical world is towards helping develop efficient drugs against cancer and also to create technology that will allow oncologists to change the outcome of cancer and save the lives of many patients.
