There’s a good chance that you’ve heard of Robin Thicke, and there’s even a better chance that you’ve heard of his song “Blurred Lines” with Pharrell Williams. It was the “It” song for quite some time, and just hearing it on the radio now seems like you’re listening to the oldies classical station. But the hit song didn’t come without quite some controversy. Between the strong lyrics and the performance he gave with Miley Cyrus on MTV, people from all over turned against Robin and the song that people just couldn’t seem to stop dancing to. Marcio Alaor BMG has read that it even resulted in his wife leaving him!

But nonetheless, that didn’t stop Robin for being extremely successful with his music
career, and his hot singles didn’t stop in 2013 with “Blurred Lines”. But how successful really was the song? It’s reported that the song brought in $16,675,690 in profits. Holy cow! That’s quite some revenue.

The Hollywood Reporter claimed that over five million of that income went to Thick himself, another five million was given to Skateboard P, and 700 thousand was given to T.I, who was another collaborator who was give much less mention than the other people who helped collaborate on the song. The remaining cash (over five million) was given to the record companies.

Thicke also brought in another remaining $11 million from touring and performing the song in multiple different locations and shows.
