Prostate cancer has become the form of cancer that is most common for males. As an effort in order to increase awareness of prostate cancer and the benefits of having an early screening, the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the National Football League Alumni Association and LabCorp are teaming up in order to educate men on this form of cancer and to increase the access for screenings. Beginning on September 1st and going through October 15th there will be 2,000 men that range from age 40 and up, if they meet the eligibility requirements, will be able to sign up in order to receive a free Prostate Specific Antigen which is a screening through LabCorp at any of the 1,750 LabCorp locations across the US. After these 2,000 have recieved the free PSA screening spots have been filled, other eligible men will still be able to schedule a screening for the discounted price of 25 dollars. Screenings are required to be performed with six months of the sign up date. There are one out of seven men that are predicted to be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point during their life, with a prediction by the American Cancer Society that there will be 161,360 new diagnoses of prostate cancer in 2017. Risk Factors of Prostate Cancer can include race and family history.
