Wes Edens the Co-Owner of the Milwaukee Bucks and truly innovative alternative asset investor serves as Trustee of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation. Wes Edens serves on numerous professional boards and gives to various important research and development causes through his continuous philanthropic endeavors. Wes Edens provides the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team with valuable resources and guidance to provide the absolute best equipment and athletic opportunities to succeed and advance their training and experience to produce successful results of metals within the Winter Olympic events. Wes Edens has absolutely succeeded within the investment management arena by translating a high level of analysis and intellectual evaluation of the alternative asset vehicles that has tremendously elevated his personal investment portfolio and provided the resources to continue to provide excellent opportunities to give back to many philanthropic causes.

Wes Edens was educated at Oregon State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and also his Masters of Business Administration. Wes Edens began his career as a Partner and Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, where he solidified his skill-set within the alternative asset category by providing skillful innovative approaches to investing in opportunities within the underperforming, distressed, illiquid, and non-performing asset categories. He specializes in private equity fund and real estate endeavors that are not aligned within the normal mainstream approaches to investing within the current investment paradigm. By providing lucrative returns on opportunities within the alternative asset investment area at Lehman Brothers, he quickly became one of the more respected investment managing directors at the firm. After his tenure at Lehman Brothers, he became Head of Private Equity Fund at BlackRock Financial Management Inc. During his career at BlackRock Financial Management Inc., he quickly became a leader and respected innovator within their distressed asset class opportunities and built a strong portfolio for not only the company but himself that positioned him as one of the more creative and innovative evaluators of alternative assets in the world.

With his experience and leadership capabilities, he joined four other partners to develop and found the Fortress Investment Group. Wes Edens partnered with Randall Nardone, Peter Briger, Rob Kauffman, and Michael Edwards to create the Fortress Investment Group and become one of the largest alternative asset investment firms in the world. Fortress Investment Group has more than $30 billion in assets under management and provides lucrative returns on investment for his it’s more than 1750 individual and institutional clients. In 2007, Fortress Investment Group became the first buyout firm to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The company has grown tremendously over the years and is continuing to position itself as one of the biggest and more respected alternative asset companies in existence. Wes Edens has continued to provide key leadership within his investment firm and also within his philanthropic endeavors by continuing to give to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation that provides resources that are invaluable for the US Ski and Snowboard teams to train and develop equipment to generate metals within the Winter Olympic Games.
